(30 June 2020, Hong Kong) – Intron Technology Holdings Limited (“Intron Technology” or the “Group”; HKEX: 1760), a fast-growing automotive electronics solutions provider in China, is delighted to announce that the Group’s first operational base in Europe has commenced operations in Munich, Germany. The move facilitates in-depth technological exchanges and strengthens cooperation between the Group and world-leading R&D organisations as well as automotive electronics enterprises, and thus enhances the Group’s overall R&D capability and reinforces its leading market position.
Intron’s subsidiaries are currently located across key cities in the Greater China region, such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Changchun, Xi’an and Taipei, etc. The Munich facility marks the Group’s first operational base in Europe and will improve the communication efficiency and effectiveness with its strategic technological partners in Europe. Moreover, the facility will enable the Group to further explore potential cooperation opportunities with leading European technology companies comprehensively and in greater depth. The Group will vigorously seek for merger, acquisition and cooperation opportunities, and work together with leading technology and engineering service providers in Europe to improve the overall quality of the Group’s products and services. Meanwhile, the base, as a hub for the Group to develop joint projects with its European partners, will begin regional allocation of its technology resources in order to boost its overall R&D capability.
Dr. Jeff Zhou, Regional Managing Director of Intron Technology, will be responsible for the European business of the Group. Dr Zhou joined Intron Technology since 1 February 2020. Previously, he was Vice President & General Manager, China Operations & Asia Pacific Sales at Maxwell Technologies. Dr. Zhou has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry with expertise in sectors including ePowertrain, Car Connectivity, Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) and Automotive Electronics. Prior to joining the Group, Dr. Zhou has also worked in different management positions in companies including Siemens and Elektrobit (EB). He has also gained experience in strategic consulting, start-up and early-stage venture capital (VC) investment businesses. Dr. Zhou holds a doctorate in experimental particle physics from the Physical Institute, RWTH Aachen University in Germany, a renowned polytechnic university in Europe, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Fudan University, China.
