(30 December 2021, Hong Kong) – Recently, Intron Technology Holdings Limited (“Intron Technology” or the “Group”; stock code: 1760.HK), a fast-growing automotive electronics solutions provider in China, and its wholly-owned subsidiary G-Pulse Electronics have obtained the Capability Level 3 certificate of ASPICE V3.1, the latest automotive software process improvement and capability verification standard. It is the highest ASPICE rating thus far given to a mainland automotive industry player and also the highest level for entry to the automotive supply chain comprising international and mainland mainstream OEMs and Tier 1 system vendors, thus is a benchmark for assessing effectively the delivery capability and reliability of software products of a supplier.
According to ASPICE definitions, Capability Level 3 means “Established”. Relevant characteristics can be divided into 1) a company has laid down definition for standard processes and adjustment rules, and 2) a company' standard processes can be customized for a dedicated project based on its attributes and characteristics, and executed. Intron Technology has “fully achieved” both conditions, meaning it has stable and controllable system development capability, can effectively shorten product delivery period and optimize project time and cost, as well as complete delivery of products with quality and quantity assured.
Automotive SPICE ("A-SPICE" or "ASPICE") is a set of software process improvement and capability measurement standards for the automotive industry. It offers a model framework for defining, implementing and evaluating the software development processes and R&D capability of the automotive industry players. Formulated originally by more than 20 major European automobile manufacturers, ASPICE was officially released in 2005. In recent years, with such as new energy vehicles, autonomous driving and [Internet-of-Vehicle / vehicle networking] becoming industry trends, automotive software has taken on weight in auto industry R&D and accordingly software quality management demand has also kept increasing. As such, ASPICE has been widely used in improving the R&D process and evaluating suppliers’ R&D capabilities.
Attaining the certification does not only mean "gaining recognition", but also endorsement of Intron Technology’s unwavering efforts in developing automotive software, investing continuously in its R&D capabilities and its service philosophy of adhering to the most stringent standards in developing and improving project quality. The Group has mature R&D capabilities and platform service strengths gathered over the years including not only Level 3 ASPICE development systems, but also design standards for functional safety and information security of vehicles, extensive experience in development of embedded software and hardware, as well as a host of intelligent vehicle-related testing and validation platforms.
Mr. Luk Wing Ming, Chairman, Co-CEO and Executive Director of Intron Technology, said, “Attaining the APSICE CL3 certification means Intron Technology's quality control process for software development has reached top-international standard, matching the very stringent requirement for quality and R&D capability of European and international mainstream car manufacturers and top-tier suppliers. Looking ahead, Intron Technology will as always comply with the strict safety regulations of the automobile industry and continue to introduce relevant quality standards, so as to provide customers with high-standard software and hardware development solutions and high-quality mass production services.”
